Church Leadership can be a very lonely path to travel. The way is filled with many challenges and trials, and people are looking to you to lead them forward. The weight you carry is heavy indeed and the expectations placed upon you are unattainable. The needs of the people you serve are many and varied, and their personal problems leave you feeling emotionally exhausted. You are expected to be an expert on everything from social issues, organizational management, and counseling, to theology, discipleship, and evangelism. Along with these things you have a responsibility to your family that often gets pushed to the background because of the demands of ministry. And then, there is the care of your own soul that needs to be tended too.

My desire to coach and train Church Leaders and Church Planters was born out of a quiet desperation to navigate my own way forward as a young church planter. Within my church I was pouring myself out discipling and leading others, but there was no one within the church to pour into me? I discovered that I needed someone who I could be open and honest with regarding my own challenges, struggles, and insecurities. And I need to be able to discuss those things in a safe environement. That is when I decided that I needed to hire a coach.

I benefited greatly from those coaching relationships, and along the way something surprising happened. As the churches I planted effectively reached lost people and discipled them to become the people Jesus created them to be I had a growing group of pastors and planters asking me how I was able to do the things I was doing. I was eager to help them as much as I could. During one of those conversations a church leader asked me if I would be willing to coach him one on one. We began the coaching process and we both thrived as a result. He thrived because I was able to help him navigate the way forward, and I thrived because I was living out my passion and calling.

Cultivating Movementum

Through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit I will point people to a life transforming encounter with the Kingdom of God. I am a Tenacious, Ambitious Leader who Fears God; Makes Disciples; Develops Leaders; and Advances, Plants, and Revitalizes Churches.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern College, Roseville, MN and attended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL where I earned my M.Div and Th.M with and emphasis in Evangelism, Discipleship and Church Planting. I am a serial church planter and have planted four churches in Minnesota. I also the Lead Navigator of the Cultivate Network, an aspiring disciple making movement in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I founded Cultivate Movementum: Coaching and Training focus on leadership coaching, disciple making training, and leading churches through a Vision Pathway Process.

I am married to Anne and together we have two children, Asher and Karis. We met on a short-term mission trip and were married in 2001. I was raised in the north suburbs of St. Paul and Anne was a farm girl growing up in Sebeka in Central Minnesota. We love music, outdoor adventures, and opportunities to connect and create with others.
